The Tabernacle Havana Seed CT No. 142 is the work of Nicholas Melillo (of Foundation Cigar Co.). Nick had worked with farmers in the Connecticut River Valley since 2014 to develop the incredibly unique wrapper of the Havana Seed CT #142. This is a hybridized seed and differs from a traditional Connecticut wrapper because of the extreme amount of oil it produces. Because of the leaf's abundant oils, the wrapper was fermented for upwards of three years to fully mature!
A followup to the original The Tabernacle, the Havana Seed CT No. 142 features a Mexican San Andrés binder and fillers from Nicaragua and Honduras. Both the original Tabernacle and the CT 142 have a similar core blend and share the common trait of a wrapper harvested from the Connecticut River Valley (near Foundation's headquarters in Connecticut). The CT 142's complex wrapper brings a tremendously unique, full-flavored smoke, backed by a medium body and strength. The blend hits the palate with an oily smoke texture, offering notes of cedar, ripe fruit, bubblegum, wild botanicals, and deep cocoa.
