Romeo 505 Nicaragua is an important milestone in the famed Romeo y Julieta legacy. With 505, the cigars mark the first-ever fully Nicaraguan offering from the historic brand, which originally debuted in 1875.
Why 505? Because it’s the area code for Nicaragua, as well as signifying the forbidden fruits of life… For Romeo 505 Nicaragua, the cigar’s blending/rolling was handed over to the most famous tobacco growers in Nicaragua—the Plasencia family. The cigars were crafted at the family’s Plasencia Tobacco S.A. factory, using an all-Nicaraguan blend that incorporates Nicaraguan leaf of 3 regions in the filler (Jalapa, Estelí and Condega), a Jalapa-grown binder, and a Habano-seed wrapper of Jalapa.
Fans of Romeo y Julieta may recall that RyJ by Romeo y Julieta also utilized a Nicaraguan puro blend. However, those cigars were crafted in Honduras. Now, using the legendary expertise of the Plasencia family, ROMEO by Romeo y Julieta showcases their most intense smoking experience to date! Expect a zesty Nicaraguan spice through the retrohale, complimented by heavy flavors of dried stone fruit, cedar wood, worn leather, and cocoa powder.
