Rocky Patel Vintage 2003 Cameroon launched in 2011 as the fourth cigar in the company's acclaimed Vintage series. As with former releases, the Vintage 2003 is named for the cigar's signature wrapper component—an exotic African Cameroon leaf that was first harvested in 2003.
African Cameroon originates from Sumatra seed, first brought to the region by German colonists in the early 1900s. The leaves have since taken on their own unique character, rising to become one of the most sought-after selections for wrapper. But the tobacco is not the easiest to come by, only being grown on select farms of Cameroon, where prices are commonly driven up to astronomical numbers. For this reason, as well as the tobacco's unique flavor (being a complex combination of spice and sweetness), Cameroon is most commonly found only on the most luxurious cigar offering on the market.
It then goes without saying that when the RP Vintage 2003 Cameroon launched, cigar enthusiasts were more than thrilled to find the price range in the surprisingly attainable $10–$12 range. This unique specimen is rolled in Honduras, with the namesake Cameroon leaf being secured over a Nicaraguan binder and long-leaf fillers of Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. This combination produces a medium body, with the focus placed firmly on fine-tuned flavors, including that of red pepper, caramel sweetness, aged leather, and touches of cocoa and custard for added depth through the finish.
We offer this cigar series for sale at an amazing price. We hope you try it and love it. And if you do end up loving this cigar, please review it and give it great ratings! We’re looking forward to hearing what you think!
