Rocky Patel first had the novel idea to showcase hearty smoking profiles without the pomp and frills increasingly found in today's marketplace with a brand known as The Edge. The year was 2004 and the cigar was Rocky Patel The Edge Corojo. Needless to say, cigar hobbyists fully embraced the concept, leading to sister blends of nearly every tobacco blend style in the years following—Maduro, Candela, Sumatra, Connecticut... you name it!

This includes the 2012 introduction of the Rocky Patel The Edge Habano cigar, the first cigar in the collection to be rolled at the company's boutique-minded TAVICUSA factory in Nicaragua (all previous The Edge cigars came out of Honduras). This cigar is not only rolled in Nicaragua, but uses a Nicaraguan puro recipe, including the cigar's signature ingredient of a Nicaraguan Habano wrapper.
