In 2008, Rocky Patel opened a small, boutique-minded factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. Patel is best known for his work in Honduras, but he saw the opportunity to showcase cigars with a more artisan feel, appealing to today's ardent enthusiast. This factory, known as TAVICUSA, has since handled some of the company's most elite smoking experiences, and the company sought to celebrate the facility's milestone 10th anniversary with a cigar named in its honor: Rocky Patel TAVICUSA.
The Rocky Patel TAVICUSA boasts a special blend that has been made to celebrate the country of Nicaragua, where the factory is located. This includes a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, backed by a Nicaraguan binder and an all-Nicaraguan filler recipe from each of the country's three primary growing regions (Condega, Estelí, and Jalapa). This cigar is full in strength and medium–full-bodied. Nuances of black pepper, minerals, chocolate, and sweet citrus make for a steady progression of flavor from start to finish.
