With a slew of anniversary and birthday releases under Rocky Patel Premium Cigars' belt—including the Decade, Fifteenth Anniversary, Twentieth Anniversary, Fifty, and Fifty-Five (we warned you there was a lot)—it came as no surprise that Rocky branded one of his favorite personal blends with his own birthday.
Rocky Patel II-XXVI may look like a complex Roman numeral, having you frantically searching to recall grammar school lessons, but it's as simple as Rocky's birth date—2-26 (of 1961, but who's counting?).
For this limited edition blend (only 1,000 boxes made per size), Rocky Patel turned to the company's (then) new boutique factory in Nicaragua—TAVICUSA. Artisan torcedores crafted the cigars using a complex filler recipe of Brazilian Mata Fina, Nicaraguan (Condega and Ometepe regions), and Honduran leaves. The binder is Mexican San Andrés and the cigars are finished with a hearty Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. As with all anniversary-themed RP releases, the Rocky Patel II-XXVI means business! This is a medium-plus-bodied smoke, teeming with deep flavors of zesty cabinet spices, medium-roast coffee, baker's cocoa, espresso powder, and a tangy sourdough component.
