In 2015, Rocky Patel stumbled upon a special blend that he just couldn't stop smoking. Rocky is quoted saying, “I was down in the factory working on new brands, and this one fulfilled an idea we had – maturing fully rolled cigars for greater complexity.” After 100,000 of these cigars were rolled, Rocky decided to age them for three years before their eventual release. Thus was born the Rocky Patel A.L.R. (Aged Limited Rare).
Rocky Patel A.L.R. has an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, with both the binder and filler tobaccos hailing from Nicaragua. Made at the company's boutique TaviCusa factory in Estelí, the excellent construction is evident when smoking this aged beauty. The A.L.R. has a rustic flavor with overtones of cedar that are complimented by notes of dark fruit, black pepper, and creamy leather. It is a medium-bodied cigar with medium strength throughout. Rocky Patel A.L.R. proves that good things come to those that wait.
