Quesada Reserva Privada Oscuro is the highly anticipated followup to the original Quesada Reserva Privada cigar. The cigars were released in 2016, only one year after the acclaimed original.
With big shoes to fill, the Quesada family was confident that the cigar's highly aged filler components could deliver on a wide variety of blends. A savory maduro was the next logical avenue. Indeed, a Connecticut Broadleaf maduro wrapper was draped over a Dominican San Vincente binder leaf from a near-perfect tobacco harvest of 1997. The cigar's filler is primarily sourced from the same 1997 crop, as well as a clever juxtaposition of a Pennsylvania ligero leaf, which provides a kick of strength to the otherwise aged/nuanced blend.
Smokers can expect a dark, smooth, sweet, and occasionally spicy experience, offering a medium body and complexities of chocolate-covered cherries, black pepper, carbonated soda (through the retrohale), oak, and leather.
