Referencing the 1940s to early 1960s era of Cuban tobacco, the Punch Golden Era cigar features tobaccos with direct ties to this glorious time throughout the blend!
While Punch cigars have long since taken on a life of their own, the brand acknowledges its Cuban roots with the Punch Golden Era cigar. Bringing the concept to life, Punch partnered with the famed Eiroa family of cigarmakers/agronomists and their highly respected operation throughout Honduras. The Eiroas have long been known for their cultivation of original Cuban-seed Corojo tobacco, transplanting the seeds of the original El Corojo farm in Cuba and growing them in Honduras. While the rest of the world has moved on to more disease-resistant variations/hybrids, the Eiroas continue to grow true Corojo.
This is the tobacco that makes up the bulk of the Punch Golden Era cigar, being used as the wrapper, binder, and portions of the filler (being joined by Honduran Habano).
What does the Punch Golden Era cigar taste like?
The Punch Golden Era cigar tastes like a glorious return to the halcyon days of cigar smoking! Medium in body and loaded with classic complexities, the cigars burn with balance and nostalgia. Expect a zesty start, flowing through the nostrils with gentle cabinet spices; flavors evolve to include long-lasting notes of fresh-backed bread, nutmeg, clean cedar, and candied nuts.
