The Ortez family has one of the oldest lineages in Nicaraguan tobacco, beginning with Ramon Ortez working on a tobacco farm in 1967. Since this time, the family has managed various aspects of the cigarmaking process for other manufacturers, embarked on their own agricultural operations, opened their own factory (Agroindustrial Nicaraguense de Tabacos S.A.), and maintained their own brand (Omar Ortez), among many other accomplishments.
The Omar Ortez brand debuted in 2006, being known as one of the most popular bang-for-your-buck smoking experiences for the better part of two decades. In this collection, the Omar Ortez Connecticuts cigar has recently been overhauled, moving in the opposite direction of the modern Connecticut to instead showcase a toned-down, mellower performance. This is accomplished through a clean Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper and all-Nicaraguan binder/fillers.
What does the Omar Ortez Connecticuts cigar taste like?
The Omar Ortez Connecticuts cigar is your go-to morning or early afternoon cigar. With a clean palate and medium-light body, cigar hobbyists can expect soft yet flavorful nuances of cedar, citrus, barnyard hay, and semi-sweet florals throughout.
