In 2016, General Cigar Co. released Odyssey, a value-priced line to compliment their portfolio. General, being one of the largest cigar companies in the world, has a long reputation for producing high-quality cigars. Odyssey cigars have become the de facto choice for the discerning smoker looking for an affordable alternative in today's increasingly expensive market. There are four different blends in this line: the Odyssey Connecticut, the Odyssey Habano, the Odyssey Maduro, and Odyssey Sweet Tip.
The Odyssey Connecticut is blended with a Honduran Connecticut wrapper, accompanied by an Indonesian binder and Nicaraguan fillers. It is produced in Nicaragua and has smooth, creamy notes of cedar, tea, barnyard hay, and cinnamon. This cigar is often thought to be best enjoyed during morning smoking sessions.
The Odyssey Habano has a Nicaraguan Habano wrapper and a Honduran binder, with filler tobaccos from Nicaragua. It is produced in Nicaragua and has notes of coffee, black pepper, and chocolate. This is a fiery blend that makes for an excellent lunch or dinner pairing.
The Odyssey Maduro is made in Nicaragua. The cigar's dark Nicaraguan wrapper is joined by signature Honduran binder and fillers from Nicaragua. The darker wrapper provides a peppery smoke with notes of barbecue, cocoa, coffee, and oak. Most enthusiasts choose to pair the Maduro with dinner and/or dessert... or even a late-night snack!
Odyssey Sweet Tip
The Odyssey Sweet Tip is hand-rolled in Nicaragua, offering the same premium tobaccos as its sibling cigar blends, taking on a unique experience through the addition of a sweetened cap. This is a classic technique in the realm of premium cigars, where a sugary gum is used to apply the cigar's head at the factory. Making use of a Nicaraguan Habano wrapper, Honduran binder, and Cuban-seed fillers of Nicaragua and Honduras, the cigar offers a premium smoking experience and an irresistible sweetness that lingers on the lips between puffs
