What started as a bang-for-your-buck smoking experience has now come full circle, as the New World Dorado cigar showcases a fine-tuned smoking experience unlike anything currently offered in the fan-favorite A.J. Fernández Cigar Co. portfolio.
Translating to mean Golden, the AJF New World Dorado cigar is named for the unique soil from which the tobacco is grown. In roughly 2017, A.J. planted the first seeds on a new plot of land. The farm is also named Dorado, as the soil has a unique golden hue (differing from the dark ash-like color of conventional Estelí soil). The AJF New World Dorado cigar makes use of the first harvest from this special farm, used almost exclusively throughout the wrapper, binder, and filler.
Cigar Aficionado’s Top 25 Cigars awarded New World Dorado Robusto the No.14 spot for 2022.
What does the AJF New World Dorado cigar taste like?
Medium in body and loaded with flavors that seasoned and newcomers alike will gravitate towards, the New World Dorado cigar offers tobaccos that are truly new. This includes a sun-grown Cuban-seed wrapper and Criollo ’98 binder from the Dorado farm; the filler is harvested from Condega, Estelí, and the same Dorado farm. All told, the cigar is brimming with aromatic flavor, including sweet florals, citrus, clean cedar, and buttered toast.
