New World Connecticut by A.J. Fernandez is the followup release to 2014's hugely popular New World cigar, where Master Blender A.J. Fernández co-blended the cigar with his father Ismael.
As with the original, New World Connecticut is a family affair, using A.J. and Ismael's Cuban-inspired talents to craft yet another high-value offering. And while AJF Cigar Co. includes more than one Connecticut Shade-wrapped cigar in the company's portfolio, New World Connecticut marked the first blend to use authentic Shade wrapper from the USA's famed Connecticut River Valley (the other blends use Ecuador-grown Connecticut wrappers). While USA-grown Connecticut Shade is among the most expensive wrappers in the world, AJF Cigar Co. manages to keep the cigar's prices in the "affordable" category (a feat few other manufacturers can pull off).
New World Connecticut is rounded out with a Mexican San Andrés binder and fillers of Nicaragua and Brazil. Compared to the original New World cigar, the Connecticut is much milder, showcasing soft and enjoyable nuances that many find best suited for morning smoking sessions with tea or coffee. Expect a mild body and delicate flavors of honey, barnyard hay, cedar, sage, tale cream, and buttery nuts.
