La Promesa by My Father Cigars promises to deliver quality, consistency, and flavor—again and again and again! My Father La Promesa officially launched in 2019, further expanding the García family's highly acclaimed series of Nicaraguan-focused cigars. The name unsurprisingly translates to mean The Promise, referring to the promise made by company patriarch, José “Pepín” García, when leaving behind his homeland of Cuba in 2001. This was a promise made to his family, that he would honor their tobacco heritage and make a name for the Garcías outside of Cuba—a promise clearly delivered with the family's now-ubiquitous name and highly praised factories, farms, and cigar brands.

To craft La Promesa, the Garcías focused on their own tobaccos, sourced from their many farms throughout Nicaragua. These leaves make up the cigar's filler and double binder blend, which is finalized in a highly specific Ecuadorian Habano Rosado Oscuro wrapper. Together, the recipe is a triumph in tobacco blending, offering a medium-plus body and consistent flavor from start to finish. This includes highlight characteristics of roasted nuts, classic leather, white pepper, milk chocolate, and a sweet backbone of caramel.
