Macanudo's modern Inspirado series was first introduced to the European market in 2014, offering a bright profile of exotic spices that quickly won over veteran and new smokers alike. This cigar gained enough traction to be introduced to the U.S. market in 2016, being re-named Macanudo Inspirado Orange and followed by two additional blends in 2017.
Macanudo Inspirado White and Inspirado Black continue the inspiration of the original, bringing two new blends to the table.
For Inspirado Black, the blend is dark and filled with gritty/sweet flavors. This is due to the special processing used on the cigar's heavy Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. Instead of harvesting leaves on the field, Macanudo's farmers instead cut down the entire plant, allowing the leaves to cure and ripen on the stalk, bringing additional nutrients to the leaves as they cure. Inspirado Black also features proprietary seeds grown in Estelí and used in the cigar's filler. This unique combination produces an impressive balance of strength and flavor, offering a smooth profile of earth, black pepper, brown sugar, espresso, and anise.
Macanudo Inspirado White combines heavy aging with innovation, beginning with a proprietary wrapper developed by the company's own agronomists. This unique Connecticut seed is grown under the naturally cloud-shaded climate of Ecuador, followed by six years of deep aging. The blend is rounded out with an Indonesian binder and fillers of Condega (aged four years), San Andrés (aged four years), and Jalapa (aged two years). Inspirado White shows a medium-light body and ultra-smooth flavors of heavily creamed coffee, white pepper, butter, fruity bubblegum, and sweet butterscotch.
