Sitting at the upper echelon of Drew Estate's prestigious Liga Privada collection lies the Liga Privada 10 Aniversario Connecticut Criollo cigar. This dark and lustrous beauty first debuted in 2018, being made to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Liga Privada brand.
At launch, the cigars were incredibly limited, being raffled off one or two boxes at a time to select retailers. Finally, with enough of the cigar's rare tobaccos being fermented, aged, and ready for smoking, the Liga Privada 10 Aniversario Connecticut Criollo not only opened up for a more wide-scale release, but Drew Estate even added an additional size: Liga Privada 10 Aniversario Connecticut Criollo Robusto!
What does the Liga Privada 10 Aniversario Connecticut Criollo Robusto cigar taste like?
Sized at a beefy 5" x 54, the Liga 10 Aniversario Robusto is truly a work of art, being adorned with a unique cola de pescado cap (sort of a combination of a pigtail and fan-tail cap). The blend begins with a dark and oily Criollo-seed wrapper that is grown in Connecticut; this is joined by a Mexican San Andrés negro binder and Nicaraguan and Pennsylvanian fillers, including the potent Green River One Sucker ligero. All told, this makes for a powerhouse blend that is geared for the seasoned cigar enthusiast. Expect rich, fiery flavors of black pepper, leather, and toasted oak, followed by underlying complexities of baker's cocoa, black licorice, and dark vanilla.
