L’Atelier Extension de la Racine marked the first limited edition cigar from L’Atelier Imports, first released at IPCPR 2013. The IPCPR (International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers) is the annual convention in the cigar industry, where the latest and greatest are offered to cigar retailers—think CES for tobacco...
With Extension de la Racine, L’Atelier offered the cigars exclusively to IPCPR attendees, allowing the savvy tobacconists an edge on the competition. And the cigars were a hit, with the L’Atelier releasing a new size of the limited blend each year following.
As with all L’Atelier-branded cigars, Extension de la Racine (French for "extension of the root") incorporates the unique Sancti Spíritus tobacco—an Ecuadorian hybrid leaf that has been positioned in the cigar's double binder. The complete blend is rounded out by Nicaraguan fillers and a light, yet oily, Nicaraguan Sun-Grown Criollo '98 wrapper. Expect a medium to medium-plus body and complex profile of graham crackers, vanilla, delicate cabinet spices, nougat, and a touch of cinnamon.
