Beginning with the La Gloria Cubana Criollo de Oro cigar of 2021, the famed La Gloria Cubana brand set out on the path of crafting new flavor experiences that push the boundaries of tobacco agronomy and blending. This was due to the cigar's unique wrapper, which was a hybrid of the rare Pelo de Oro tobacco and Criollo ’98.
Fast forward two years and the company is back with yet another hybrid combination: La Gloria Cubana Corojo de Oro. As with the first run, the LGC Corojo de Oro offers a new take on the revered Pelo de Oro seed, this time combining the tobacco with two variations of Corojo tobacco (Corojo '97 and '98). This go-round, the cigars showcase the unique leaf within the binder component, being joined by an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper and fillers from three countries: Brazilian Mata Fina, Dominican Piloto Cubano, and Nicaraguan Ometepe.
What does the La Gloria Cubana Corojo de Oro cigar taste like?
The La Gloria Cubana Corojo de Oro offers a classic performance with a twist. The cigars were rolled in a single 6" x 50 toro format, showing off balanced and dependable smoking experiences of roughly an hour and a half. With a medium-plus intensity, the cigars hit standout flavors of cedar, cabinet spices, and toasted bread, as well as more unique components of salted peanuts and brown sugar-coated oat bar.
