La Barba Purple is the sophomore release from La Barba Cigars, a boutique outfit that was founded by Tony Bellatto and Craig Rossi in 2010. Following on the heels of the widely acclaimed La Barba Red cigar, the Purple introduced a departure from Honduras—instead being crafted at the Tabacalera William Ventura factory in the Dominican Republic.
As with the Havana-inspired Red cigar blend, the Purple incorporated multiple tobaccos of Cuban origins. However, the La Barba Purple is noted for its more diverse makeup, featuring a special Ecuadorian HVA (Habano Vuelta Arriba) wrapper, a Dominican Corojo binder, and fillers of HVA, Dominican Corojo, and a rare tobacco known as Carbonell. Through a meticulous selection process, La Barba treats the seasoned palate to a rewarding smoking experience, replete with complexities of oak, graham cracker, table cream, earth, medium-roast coffee, and a salty, lip-smacking finish.
La Barba Purple is designed for the die-hard cigar fanatic, showcasing small-batch craftsmanship and a refined, medium-bodied profile that caters to fine-tuned flavor above all else.
