JFR Lunatic Loco is the latest in the continuously evolving saga of Aganorsa Leaf's popular JFR brand. The cigars first debuted in 2019, being one of three new offerings to make use of a new, proprietary wrapper ingredient from the company's own farms in Nicaragua.
The JFR (Just For Retailers) brand first debuted in 2005, originally intended to showcase value-priced cigars to be sold only at brick and mortar locations across the country. In 2015, the JFR Lunatic was added as a sub-brand, showcasing massive sizes for the modern, gordo-sized enthusiast (ranging up to 8" x 80 formats). Now, as Aganorsa Leaf continues to modernize its portfolio, the Lunatic line has spawned the eye-catching JFR Lunatic Loco, with all cigars in the collection boasting shapely perfecto formats that allow the fat ring gauges to feel more approachable during the smoking experience.
JFR Lunatic Loco boasts all-Nicaraguan tobaccos throughout the blend, each being harvested from the Fernández family's famed AGANORSA farms across the country. But where maduro-wrapped cigars from the company have historically been wrapped in Mexican leaves, the Lunatic Loco flips the script, being draped in the company's proprietary Shade Grown Corojo Maduro wrapper. This new ingredient allows the Lunatic Loco to offer deep puro complexities on par with Aganorsa's traditional Habano offerings, only now the experience boasts the dark and sweet nuances that maduro fanatics crave!
It truly is the best of all worlds with this inventive perfecto. A large smoke output billows from the cigar due to its wide ring gauges (ranging from 60 to 80); but the perfecto shape allows for an evolving profile from start to finish (as well as a more comfortable feel in the mouth). The cigar offers one of the most full-flavored experiences in the JFR lineup, exploding onto the palate with characteristics of milk chocolate, mocha, black pepper, charred oak, cinnamon, heavy cream, and deep molasses.
