The Senetjer cigar is the third offering from Nick Melillo and Highclere Castle Cigar Company, following regal releases such as the Highclere Castle Edwardian and Highclere Castle Victorian cigars. Each former cigar drew inspiration from the Hampshire-based castle and its inhabitants' rich history, and the limited-edition Highclere Castle Senetjer is no different.
With this special cigar release, Melillo and company turn their focus toward the 1922 discovery of pharaoh Tutankhamun (aka King Tut) by archaeologist Howard Carter. The cigar was crafted in celebration of the 100th anniversary of King Tut's tomb, which was funded by none other than George Herbert (the 5th Earl of Carnarvon), the great grandfather of the current Earl of Carnarvon, who occupies and oversees the Highclere Castle.
As such, the Highclere Castle Senetjer cigars are packaged in unique boxes made to resemble an artifact found in Tut's tomb, including a hieroglyphic translation of Highclere Castle, among other significant symbols.
What does the Highclere Castle Senetjer cigar taste like?
The Highclere Castle Senetjer cigar is a limited cigar rolled in a singular 6¾" x 52 perfecto format out of the famed Tabacalera A.J. Fernández factory in Nicaragua. The cigars begin with an oily, high-priming Habano wrapper from Ecuador. This leaf surrounds a Brazilian Mata Fina binder and undisclosed fillers, amounting to a medium-full intensity and rich flavors that sink into the palate. This includes standout complexities of mineral-rich soil, rain-soaked hardwoods, black pepper, zesty nutmeg, and a lingering molasses sweetness throughout.
