To concoct the most old school, Cubanesque smoking experience in Drew Estate’s impressive collection of premium cigars, the company turned to one of the smallest cigar factories in the business… Yes, in 2010, Drew Estate founder Jonathan Drew began scouting new talent, plucking Willy Herrera from his family’s small El Titan de Bronze factory, located in Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood. El Titan may be small, but the little factory is well-known for their traditional approach, employing some of the world’s best torcedores and consistently creating authentic smoking experiences for the true connoisseur.
Willy was given the keys to Drew Estate’s massive inventory of some of the world’s best tobaccos. Understandably, there was an adjustment period, moving from a handful of tobacco options to a towering warehouse of variety. But after much trial and error, Willy returned from Drew Estate’s operations in Estelí, Nicaragua with a new blend, appropriately named Herrera Estelí.
Herrera Estelí showcases a somking experience unlike anything else in the Drew Estate lineup. This premium blend utilizes a golden-hued Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, Honduran binder, and all-Nicaraguan filler tobaccos. As previously noted, this is an authentic, traditional, Cubanesque blend, offering a medium body and refined complexities. Flavors of buttered toast, honey, white pepper, rich nuts, and caramel will transport your taste buds to a nostalgic era of Cuba’s heyday — it’s that good!
Herrera Estelí became the first Drew Estate cigar to make Cigar Aficionado’s prestigious Top 25 Cigars of the Year list, debuting at #8 in 2013 (and receiving an equally impressive 94-point rating).
