Henry Clay was the Speaker of the House of Representatives in the early 1800s and later became Secretary of State under John Adams in the 1820s. He led the charge to declare war against Britain in 1812 and he had a strong belief in military force. It was this belief that led to the term "War Hawk." This little bit of American history leads us to the first cigar in the Immortal Trio Series from Altadis U.S.A.
The Henry Clay War Hawk is a medium-strength cigar featuring an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper, Connecticut Broadleaf binder, and filler tobaccos from Honduras. This is an unusual move for the Henry Clay brand, differing from the maduro wrappers often showcased... then again, that may be just the rebellious spirit that Henry Clay himself would appreciate! This cigar is balanced, flavorful, and steeped in American history.
