Altadis USA and their H. Upmann brand of cigars are well known in the premium cigar industry for a commitment to quality and consistency. So, when it was announced at the start of 2022 that Altadis was teaming up with A.J. Fernández for the release of the H. Upmann Nicaragua AJ Fernandez Heritage cigar, saying we were intrigued would be an understatement.
The premium cigar community is no stranger to Altadis/A.J. collaborations, with such brands as Romeo y Julieta, Montecristo, and plenty of H. Upmann releases coming out of the Fernández factory in recent years. This time around, A.J. has taken the finest aged Cuban-seed tobacco grown on his personal farm in Nicaragua and surrounded them in a triple-fermented, dark and oily Brazilian Mata Fina wrapper. The end result is a smoking experience that is both complex and gritty.
H. Upmann Nicaragua AJ Fernandez Heritage Toro placed 3rd on Cigar Snob’s Top 25 The Best Cigars of 2022.
What does the H. Upmann Nicaragua AJ Fernandez Heritage cigar taste like?
This tasty specimen highlights A.J.'s brilliance beautifully, offering his familiar Nicaraguan punch with a darker twist. Expect a medium-full body and zesty flavors of oak, earth, mineral, and dark chocolate.
