Gurkha Cellar Reserve Platinum Edition is the fourth cigar in the company's popular Cellar Reserve series. The cigars were released in 2015, three years after the original Cellar Reserve cigar—a blend that boasted aged tobaccos and a Dominican puro blend.
Like the Cellar Reserve blends before it, the Platinum Edition is centered around wine culture, being packaged in boxes that resemble wine crates and showcasing oversized bands that resemble vintage wine labels. The biggest difference with Platinum Edition is the cigar's blend, which focuses on Nicaraguan tobaccos for the first time in Gurkha's Cellar Reserve collection.
Nicaraguan leaves—some of which have been aged up to 12 years—are utilized throughout the cigar's filler and binder recipe. This impressive selection has been paired with an oily Ecuadorian wrapper. Boasting intricately rolled sizes (figurados and pigtail caps) and vintage tobaccos, Gurkha Cellar Reserve Platinum Edition is filled to the brim with complexities of baker's cocoa, heavy oak, natural tobacco, zesty cabinet spices, and brown sugar sweetness.
