In 2021, Ferio Tego launched onto the premium cigar scene as the most anticipated new company. This was due to founder Michael Herklots, best known for his work with Nat Sherman over the past decade. And while many of the company's initial offerings were familiar favorites (being acquired from Nat Sherman's parent company after the brand's 2020 closure), it was the ultra-premium Ferio Tego cigars that got cigar enthusiasts talking.
Ferio Tego debuted two unique offerings at the tail end of 2021: Ferio Tego Elegancia and Ferio Tego Generoso. The duo make up Ferio Tego's showpiece collection, taking the unique strategy of offering two unique/contrasting profiles stemming from manufacturers of both the DR (Elegancia) and Nicaragua (Generoso). While the blends remain largely unchanged each year, Ferio Tego notes the release year on the cigar's sub-band, allowing cigar enthusiasts the chance to differentiate the natural differences between releases over the years.
Ferio Tego Generoso placed 17th in Cigar Coop’s 2022 Cigar of the Year.
What does the Ferio Tego Generoso 2022 cigar taste like?
The Ferio Tego Generoso 2022 cigar is the second release in the series, boasting the same blend of all-Nicaraguan binder/fillers and an oily Honduran wrapper. Rolled by the talented Plasencia family at their factory in Estelí, the Generoso 2022 cigar offers a surprisingly full and balanced smoking texture, with the actual nicotine strength pulling back into the medium to medium-plus range. Flavors kick off with a natural sweetness, coating every square inch of the palate with full sensations of oak, sweet malt, nutmeg, and chocolate-covered caramel.
