When EPC Cigar Co. retooled their entire portfolio in 2016—complete with packaging/design overhauls and a new structure to better organize the company's many brands—an entirely new cigar line happened to sneak its way into the fold. The cigar is dubbed "Dusk," becoming the 4th brand within E.P. Carrillo's new series known as "The Classics."
While most cigar enthusiasts are already familiar with other "Classic" cigars, such as New Wave Connecticut, Cardinal, and E.P. Carrillo CORE, the Dusk settles into the mix by offering a diverse blend makeup and a dark Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper.
Despite being crafted at Ernesto Pérez-Carrillo’s esteemed Tabacalera La Alianza factory in the Dominican Republic, Dusk includes no sign of Dominican tobaccos within the blend. Instead, Carrillo focused on spicy/fiery/gritty tobaccos, such as an all-Nicaraguan filler, Ecuadorian binder, and a thick Connecticut Broadleaf maduro wrapper. EPC Dusk offers a medium-plus body and very approachable flavor notes of drip-brew coffee, natural tobacco, table cream, nuts, black pepper, and baker’s cocoa.
