The followup to the popular My Father El Centurion, the El Centurion H-2K-CT by My Father, brings a new take on a classic cigar. The original Centurion was said to be Don Pepín's personal blend, so it is understandable that the H-2K-CT was met with much excitement. The line extension was received positively, primarily due to the cigar's unique wrapper, getting high ratings and appearing on many cigar-of-the-year lists.
El Centurion H-2K-CT is a reference to the specific wrapper used on the blend, representing Havana 2000 Connecticut. The Cuban seed (a hybrid developed in 2000) used by My Father was successfully grown in the Connecticut River Valley, which is normally known for its hearty Broadleaf maduro and shade-grown Connecticut wrapper leaves. The binder and fillers are both harvested from the García family's famed Nicaraguan farms. The hybrid wrapper used in the H-2K-CT is proprietary to My Father, helping to impart the cigar's unique flavor profile. With a medium strength and body, the cigar bursts onto the palate with full flavors of barnyard hay, buttered toast, black pepper, and dark, rich spices—simply a García / My Father masterpiece.
