CLE Cigars was founded by Christian Luis Eiroa, hence the acronymic title. Christian and the Eiroa family are among the most famed families in the premium cigar industry, known for their perfection of Honduran tobaccos at the family’s Eiroa Tobacco Farm in the Jamastran Valley of Honduras. Before launching C.L.E. Cigar Company in 2012, Christian was best known for his role as president of Camacho Cigars, which the Eiroa family had run since 1995. But after Davidoff purchased Camacho in 2008, Christian remained with the company for 3 years, where he left to form his own company—CLE.
Among the first products introduced by CLE when the brand launched in 2012 was the CLE Corojo (the other being CLE Cuarenta). With CLE Corojo, Christian sought to showcase the famed Corojo varietal that the Eiroa family had become known, using a Honduran puro blend with the family’s Corojo tobacco for the cigar’s wrapper. CLE Corojo is medium to full in body, showing a classic flavor profile that has been hailed as reminiscent of old-school Cuban smoking experiences. Satisfying notes of caramel, citrus, freshly cut wood, and cabinet spices unfold throughout the CLE Corojo smoking experience - Highly recommended!
