Before you is the original AVO cigar, built in perfect harmony between internationally renowned pianist Avo Uvezian and internationally renowned Master Blender Hendrik Kelner.

As legend has it, Uvezian became known as a peak attraction while performing at the Palmas del Mar resort in Puerto Rico throughout the '70s and '80s. Uvezian would place locally made cigars on top of his piano, which he offered freely to those that wanted to smoke. This eventually lead to a more serious interest in making and selling cigars for himself and, in the mid-'80s, Avo began working with the up-and-coming Kelner at his newly opened factory in the Dominican Republic. The first AVO cigars were sold in 1987, later launching in America in 1988, using a similar blend to what is now considered the AVO Classic.

AVO Classic continues to be produced in the DR by Hendrik "Henke" Kelner to this day. The cigars feature a darker-than-average Connecticut-seed wrapper, which is sun-grown in Ecuador. Both the binder and filler ingredients are 100% Dominican, containing rare vintages that have been aged up to 25 years. This allows for a silky smooth smoking experience with unrivaled complexity. AVO Classic is mild to medium in body, showing layered nuances of nougat, creamy coffee, light baking spices, buttered crackers, and much more.
