Known for playing off psychological concepts throughout their portfolio, Asylum Cigars now intends to influence the cigar hobbyist's entire sensory apparatus through an ultra-premium cigar known as Asylum Sensorium.
With this unique project, company owners Christian Eiroa and Tom Lazuka have incorporated a highly unusual tobacco known as Pinareño. The tobacco takes its name from something/someone from Cuba's famed Pinar del Río tobacco-growing region. Indeed, the leaf was originally grown in Cuba, and was most recently cultivated by the Eiroa family during the late 1970s. Unfortunately, the seed is highly susceptible to disease, yielding extremely small harvests. Alas, the Eiroas have revived the seed, taking on the agricultural hardships in order to deliver a unique smoking experience for the die-hard enthusiast.
