Nyctophilia is a word borrowed from Greek language, meaning “friend of the dark.” This is the concept behind the Asylum Nyctophilia, using the cigar’s dark Mexican San Andrés maduro wrapper to draw out the nyctophiles among us…
Asylum Nyctophilia was first released in 2015 as an exclusive release for TAA-approved tobacconists. This limited blend was later made fully available nation-wide, due to strong demand for the dark and sinister smoking experience.
Like many Asylum cigars, Nyctophilia is rolled in Nicaragua and features Nicaraguan tobaccos in the filler and binder. As an added twist (and further playing into the cigar’s dark theme), the Nyctophilia uses all-maduro tobaccos throughout the filler, binder, and wrapper! With this combination, smokers can expect a heavy-hitting, full-bodied smoking experience, loaded with nuances of dark chocolate, black pepper, molasses, black coffee, espresso, and sweet cedar.
Go ahead, embrace your dark side…
