While the original Asylum 13 cigar first debuted alongside Asylum's own inception in 2012, the cigars had not been rolled in the Eiroa family's signature 11/18 format... until now!
New for 2022, Asylum has rolled a limited number of Asylum 13 11/18 cigars, offered exclusively by retailers that are members of the Tobacconists' Association of America (TAA). This size traces its roots back to the Eiroas' days with Camacho, and has made its way into various Asylum, CLE, and Eiroa cigars over the years. The cigar's name honors co-owner Christian Eiroa's mother, who's birthday is Nov. 18th. In terms of size, the cigar is one of the more unique specimens you're likely to come across in the humidor, being six inches in length and expanding/contracting through ring gauges of 48/54/48.
What does the Asylum 13 11/18 TAA cigar taste like?
The Asylum 13 11/18 TAA cigar boasts the same blend as the standard Asylum 13, wrapping a Habano leaf around all-Nicaraguan binder/filler and being rolled at The CLE Factory in Danlí, Honduras. With the special size, the Asylum 13 11/18 TAA cigar offers a more concentrated experience and added transitions, offering a medium to full body and punchy flavors of earth, black pepper, cocoa, and black coffee.
