The Tabacalera El Artista factory is one of the oldest and best-established cigar manufacturers in the Dominican Republic. Now guided by third-generation cigarmaker Ram Rodriguez, the family's associated brand saw a major overhaul in 2022; this included a name change (now going by Artista Cigars), a new logo and branding, and a pair of headlining cigars to usher it all in!

The cigars at hand are the Artista Harvest and Artista Midnight, offering a medium-bodied experience with the former and a dark and fuller-bodied smoke with the latter. With the Artista Midnight, the blend begins with a maduro-shade Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. This savory leaf surrounds a contrastingly light Ecuadorian Connecticut binder, as well as diverse fillers from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and the US.

What does the Artista Midnight cigar taste like?

Dark and brooding with all the gooey flavor that maduro fanatics crave, the Artista Midnight cigar jumps out of the gate with notes of black pepper and toasted oak. The cigar evolves nicely throughout, offering a medium-full to full body and added complexities of wet soil, molasses, and anise through the finish.
