Archetype by Ventura Cigar Company is inspired by the work of psychologist Dr. Carl Jung and mythographer Joseph Campbell, who defined ‘archetypes’ as the constantly repeating characters who occur in the dreams of all people and the myths of all cultures.
First introduced in 2016, Archetype is a unique series that focuses primarily on intricate flavor nuances, complexity, and balance. In addition, the series of five cigar blends has been split into two categories: Chapter 1 and Chapter 2. Chapter 1 cigars are produced at Davidoff’s facilities in the Dominican Republic, while Chapter 2 cigars are rolled at Drew Estate’s factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.
Of the three cigars produced by Davidoff (Chapter 1), Archetype Strange Passage is the most full-bodied. The cigar features a dark Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, which is seamlessly draped over a Honduran Corojo binder and fillers of multiple origins (not disclosed). This high-intensity smoking experience does not simply rest in one gear, rather transforming and evolving from start to finish. Expect a thrilling journey with twists and turns, showing notes of freshly roasted coffee beans, cedar wood, stone fruit, cabinet spices, and smooth table cream on the finish.
