Archetype by Ventura Cigar Company is inspired by the work of psychologist Dr. Carl Jung and mythographer Joseph Campbell, who defined ‘archetypes’ as the constantly repeating characters who occur in the dreams of all people and the myths of all cultures.
First introduced in 2016, Archetype is a unique series that focuses primarily on the delicate flavor nuances that are often lost in today’s trend of “powerhouse” cigars. In addition, the series of five cigar blends has been split into two categories: Chapter 1 and Chapter 2. Chapter 1 cigars are produced at Davidoff’s facilities in the Dominican Republic, while Chapter 2 cigars are rolled at Drew Estate’s factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.
The second brand in Archetype Chapter 1 is Sage Advice—as in, one would be wise to heed our advice and try this cigar first hand! The cigar is rolled at Davidoff’s prestigious Occidental Cigars factory in the Dominican Republic; making good use of a proprietary NSA/Habano hybrid wrapper, Dominican San Vicente binder, and an undisclosed multi-national filler recipe (a whopping seven tobaccos in all). Sage Advice bridges the gap between natural and maduro, offering a medium/full body and a complex profile of leather, dried fruit, natural tobacco, herbs, and spice.
