Aging Room Bin No. 1 represents the highly anticipated response to the company's award-winning Quattro F55 cigar (Cigar Aficionado's #1 non-Cuban Cigar of the Year for 2013). Thus, in 2014, parent company Boutique Blends dug deep into their tobacco inventories in an effort to outdo themselves with Aging Room Bin No. 1.
As Boutique Blends' co-founder Rafael Nodal is a known musical enthusiast, many of the company's cigars include classical music themes. For Aging Room Bin No. 1, each size in the series has been named for scales, such as B Minor (toro), G Major (gordo), or D Minor (lancero).
But it is the cigar's heavily aged tobaccos that sets it apart from the pack. Working with Jochi Blanco and his famed tobacco farms and factory in the Dominican Republic, Boutique Blends secured Dominican Habano-seed tobaccos from 1999 and 2011 for the cigar's binder and filler. The blend is then finished in a gorgeous Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. This combination produces a full body and an exquisite profile of cabinet spices, sweet vanilla, aged natural tobacco, oak, and cinnamon.
Aging Room Bin No. 1 was awarded Cigar Snob Magazine's #13 Cigar of the Year for 2014.
