In 2018, Casa Fernandez changed its name to Aganorsa Leaf—another step in a multi-year reorganization for the brand. Aganorsa Leaf is operated by the Fernández family, owners of both a large tobacco-growing conglomerate (Agricola Ganadera Norteña S.A. (or AGANORSA)) and a prominent factory in Nicaragua (Tabacos Valle de Jalapa S.A. (or TABSA)).
The Aganorsa Signature Selection is blended by Max Fernández, the son of Aganorsa founder/owner Eduardo Fernández. The cigar is blended with a special Rosado Claro Corojo '99 wrapper, a Corojo '99 binder, and fillers that consist of Criollo ’98, Corojo ’99, and the blend's coup de grâce, medio tiempo (a rare tobacco priming that is only found on roughly 1% of tobacco plants, offering a more potent strength/flavor than the usual highest priming of ligero). This blend creates a medium strength, medium body smoke with a medium-full flavor output. The flavor profile on the Aganorsa Signature Selection is milky and buttery, with notes of graham cracker and enough complexity to have you wishing this was your daily smoke!
The Aganorsa Leaf Signature Selection was awarded with the No. 5 ranking on The Consensus Top 25 Cigars of 2018
