2012 by Oscar Sumatra

As the name suggests, the 2012 by Oscar line first debuted from Oscar Valladares in 2012, being themed around the theorized end of the world (as foretold by the end of the Mayan calendar), which was thought to occur on Dec. 21, 2012. This was fitting for Oscar Valladares, as the company is based in Honduras, located near the area formerly inhabited by the Mayan people.

The initial 2012 by Oscar cigars consisted of Connecticut, maduro, and Corojo blends, being followed by a barber pole and, now... Sumatra! The 2012 by Oscar Sumatra cigar debuted in 2023, helping to celebrate the company's milestone 10th anniversary (albeit a year late). Offered in a suite of three box-pressed sizes, the 2012 by Oscar Sumatra cigar consists of an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, a Honduran binder, and fillers from Honduras and Nicaragua.

What does the 2012 by Oscar Sumatra cigar taste like?

Medium in body and medium-plus in flavor output, the 2012 by Oscar Sumatra cigar is oh so easily enjoyed. The cigar combines Central American tobaccos and a fine-tuned Sumatra wrapper effortlessly, making for delicate spices on the tongue and through the nostrils, revealing a nice sweetness through the finish. This includes standout flavors of red pepper, nutmeg, cinnamon, and brown sugar sweetness.
